Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Since 1975
What is your primary product or service?
We are a "job shop". This means we quote projects on the open market in hopes of landing the work. We help customers in the wood products industries with custom equipment needs, and bid on public and private projects as subs to general contractors in a large and diverse field of needs, from custom coffer dam cells to jobsite work bridges.
We also work in the structural steel and misc. metals categories. We are excellent fabricators and machinists! And we sandblast and paint too!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The owner started out as a welder/ fabricator for a fabrication and machining company with a sawmill across the street.
The sawmill owner would bring equipment across the street for repair and modifications and would always seek him out to perform the tasks he required.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Quality, Pride in Workmanship, and the ability to "think outside the box".
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location and no desire to be a "large company".
Provide detailed directions to your location
Follow the signs to the Eugene Airport. Once on Airport Road, we are the first road to the right, just past an irrigation company. Enid Road West. And then the first driveway on the right.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, check, and Paypal
Which areas do you service?
We predominantly work in the Pacific Northwest, but do have a few customers in other countries.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Mr. Mathews
What are your hours of operation?
Our shops are open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 in the afternoon. Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
